Building Description

Located  on the corner of Venizelou Str and Egnatia Str, it neighbors within a few meters the Metro Station, the old textile and jewelry market (Bezesteni), the newly discovered Roman city center, and the Hamza Bey Mosque, it represents a corner of Thessaloniki that all visitors must see.

Originally built in 1924 and rebuilt in the 1960s the Venizelou 48 was designed to house offices and stores. Currently all leases have expired to allow remodeling by a new owner.  The stores have basements and mezzanines and above those there are 7 floors of office space.

Solomou Str runs along the southern side of the building and leads to the pedestrian Kapani Market which features an array of shops selling everything from clothing to food. When the Metro station is completed we expect Solomou Str to become one of the main routes into the market and therefore carry much of the traffic.
